Education Benefits Form/Community Eligibility Program (CEP)
We are excited to share that Romeo Community Schools is set to participate in the Michigan School Meals program for the 2025‐26 school year. This would allow every student in Young 5’s through 12th grade to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day - just like last year. Qualifying families will still need to complete the income forms to help determine income eligibility for additional educational programs and to ensure our district continues to receive essential state funding.
Important: While we anticipate this program continuing through the 2025-26 school year, the state funding is currently only approved until September 30, 2025, the future beyond that date is still uncertain, pending final decisions from state legislators. We remain hopeful and are monitoring the situation closely. We will send more definitive news once state funding is confirmed.
The Education Benefits Form collects information needed to ensure the school receives state and federal funding for education programs. Without this information, Romeo Community Schools could lose important funding for education programs that our students need. These supplemental grants and programs have the potential to offer supports and services for our students including, but not limited to:
● Instructional staff (ex. Reading Interventionists, Math Tutors, Academic & Behavior Aids)
● Teaching supplies and materials
● Counselors and Social Workers
● School Nurses
● Professional Learning for staff
● Parent and Community engagement supplies and activities
● Technology
What else might my student or household be eligible for? Based on the information you provide on your Education Benefits Form, your child may qualify for other programs such as:
● Programs that provide food support
● Programs that provide field trip support
● Programs that provide school supplies or assist with school fees
● Programs that provide holiday support
● Potential household support for cable and internet
You must complete both the Education Benefits Form and the Sharing Information with Other Programs Form. If done online, thay are part of the same application. Please complete these forms online at Family Portal
If completing a paper application, you can request and return both completed forms in your school's front office. To confidentiality return forms to your school's office, please place them in a sealed envelope and label "Confidential - Food Service Only." Alternatively, you may return the forms directly to the Food Service Office located at Romeo High School - 62300 Jewell Rd, Washington, MI 48094.
